AL17 Ceremonial Neckpiece “Fofona” Eastern Highlands

Description .Beautiful Mans “Fofona” Neckpiece with two large white cowries attached (one has break at side but not evident) with fibre band for attachment. These pieces are worn as pectorals on the back, or held in the mouth of dancers at ceremonies and sing sings in the Highlands. This one is made of woven bush twine and the top part is woven orchid bark. It is decorated with shells and ochred. A great example.
