Description .Mortlock or Marqueen Islands Fishing hook collected 1950’s. Referred to as a shark hook but is actually used to catch Ruvettus (Oilfish), a deep water fish. The hook is made from hardwood and attached to cord with woven coconut fibre, with 41 cm of cord for main line attachment.
