Description . A Nice Trobriand Islands Massim Sword Club made from Ebony. Collected 1960’s. Ebony as a wood for carving had largely dissapeared by the start of the 1970’s. The sword-clubs were widespread and men carried them as an everyday item and were generally used as weapons for skirmish’s and brawl’s in village disputes.
