Description . Superb example of a very old Message Stick. Australian Aboriginal Message Sticks are a form of communication traditionally used by Indigenous Australians and were passed between different clans and language groups to send messages. The carrier of the message stick was granted safe passage across other aboriginal nation’s lands. This example was bought along with several others from a Maryborough Museum that closed in the 1980’s and most were collected pre 1950’s.
