Description Huli fighting pick with a cassowary toe nail at tip mid 20th Century. The Huli did not carry axes but picks in their belts and these were used to strike a running enemy from behind as the pick would come over the shoulder into the chest or around the side into the belly. The shaft on this pick is decorated in natural ochres with bush cane binding holding the shaft to the handle. Overall size is 28″ long and the head 15″ from tip to tip.
