Description Nice Kundu Drum from Wossera Region with good carving and intact snakeskin membrane attached to the head with natural gum & resin and also evidence of bees wax (centre of skin) used to adjust tone of sound made. Well used around he handle and collected in the 1950’s. Interestingly old drums were hollowed out by placing hot coals inside the centre of the selected log section and when burnt sufficently the centre was scraped out at both ends with an outer design added after shaping was completed.
