Description      Old Trobriand Island Sword/Club collected around 1910. The Sword still has foliage at base and would probably had shells or foliage decoration in holes around handle. These pieces were used during dance ceremonies. The sword-clubs were widespread and men carried them as an everyday item and were generally for dances and also used as weapons for skirmish’s and brawl’s in village disputes.
